DAY 02

Flame Tour + Old City Tour

+
Breakfast at the hotel.
10:00 – Assembly at the hotel lobby. Tour starts with Ateshgah (Fire Worshippers Temple).
Based on Persian and Indian inscriptions, the temple was used as a Hindu and Zoroastrian place of worship. “Atash” is the Persian word for fire. The pentagonal complex has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetra-pillar altar in the middle. It was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It was abandoned in the late 19th century, probably due to the dwindling Indian population in the area. The natural “eternal flame” went out in 1969 after nearly a century of petroleum and gas exploitation in the area, but is now lit by gas piped from the nearby city.
Trip to “Fire Mountain” – “Yanardag,” a mountain on the Absheron Peninsula, 25 km north of Baku. Literally, the word “Yanardag” means “Blazing Mountain.” Blazing bodies of flame dance on stones and the ground. Yanardag is a natural gas fire that blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, which is known as the “Land of Fire.”
14:00 – Tour starts with the Old City or Inner City, the historical core of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Old City is the most ancient part of Baku and is surrounded by well-protected walls. In 2007, the Old City had a population of about 3,000 people. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. (Walking Tour)
19:30 – Transfer for dinner at an Indian restaurant.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Free time – explore night activities on your own.

It is the first and largest ski resort in Azerbaijan. Plans for the project include 4–5-star hotels, golf clubs, 160–180 cottages, and other facilities within the complex.
The winter season in Shahdag begins in the second half of December and finishes at the beginning of April, depending on snow conditions.
Enjoy a Cable Car ride in Shahdag.

Its oldest petroglyphs date from the 12th century BC. In 2007, UNESCO included the “Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape” on the World Heritage List.

15:00 – Start the shopping tour at 28 Mall, a popular shopping and entertainment destination located in the heart of Baku, Azerbaijan. Named after the nearby “28 May” metro station, it features a wide range of international and local retail brands, restaurants, cafes, and a modern cinema.
